Model MPO Mechanical Pack-Off
The Model MPO Mechanical Pack-off tool is used to seal on the OD of round armored cable run through multi-string packers to submersible pumps below. The tool isolates pressure from below and above the packer by sealing on the rubber jacket of the cable. Because of this there is no need to splice cables at the packer or hanger as when BIW connectors or similar devices are used.
With the Model MPO Mechanical Pack-off the Armor on the cable is merely stripped off at the location where it will pass through, exposing the rubber jacket and the tool is tightened around the jacket effecting a seal.
