The Model RHT Retrievable Hydraulic Set Sealbore Packer, a solution for well completion that features the advanced capabilities of a large seal-bore packer. This innovative packer is strategically installed within the well casing to effectively channel fluid flow from the lower casing to the upper tubing. Its versatile design allows it to carry various types of open hole packers, sand control screens, and serve as a critical pressure isolation point within the casing. Additionally, the RHT packer excels in weight-down gravel packing applications.
The RHT packer incorporates a three-piece multi-durometer packing element with a specially heat-treated metal backup support ring and a bi-directional barrel slip positioned below the sealing elements. The barrel slip features an expandable slotted cylinder, ensuring comprehensive contact with the casing. This design not only facilitates a slimmer running outer diameter but also enhances pressure retention capabilities while promoting a more balanced distribution of forces across the casing.
For deployment, the packer utilizes the Model RHT-HT Setting Tool, equipped with a latch-threaded head that includes torque finger slots, allowing seamless rotation through the mandrel down to the tailpipe. For retrieval, the RHT packer employs the Model RHT-PT Retrieving Tool. This tool is ingeniously designed with a primary drop ball pressure activation mechanism, offering a secondary option that utilizes tubing rotation to facilitate the release of the RHT packer in the downhole environment.
Engineered to withstand differential pressures of up to 10,000 psi (68.9 MPa) in select sizes, the RHT packer is built for robust performance in demanding environments. It also offers element options that are suitable for service temperatures reaching up to 400°F (204°C).
